Ahoj!

Welcome to our blog about our Africa-journey. The greeting "Ahoj!" in the heading is the traditional greeting of canoeists (and marines, of course). I wonder if it comes from Czech :) As you may know, we love canoeing, but here we will not write about canoeing but about an expedition from Prague to Cape Town on the road.

The name of the expedition is Vector IV. - Transafrikeena. Few basic figures:

This expedition has also its oficial webpages, which you find here. Nevertheless, Honza and me wanted to have our own web diary, through which we would communicate with our families, friends and anyone, who would be interested.

On this webpage you can follow our trip, read through our diary from the trip, view photos and last but not least - send us a message or discuss our trip with other readers through gueast book. We hope you will enjoy reading it.

Anna about Honza: Honza is the "Jack of all trades" and rather stubborn. He has multiple talents; he is a great kayaker and skier, he loves hiking, he knows how to repair any car older than 10 years:). He also plays wonderful guitar and likes to sit in the pub or around the fire with friends.

Together we have founded the canoeing Travel Agency Povoda. At the beginning it was rather a hobby for us, but over the years, it became more than full time job. Currently Honza is the proud director of this little company.

Honza about Anna: Anna is also doing many different things and she is definitelly more stubborn than me! She can chop the wood as well as calculate a million Euro budget for DHL, where she used to work. Primarily, she was formed by studying Matfyz (Faculty of Mathematics and Physics) and as such she is sometimes a little bit absent-minded (as everyone from this faculty typically is).

Anna loves paddling in kayak, skiing, hiking and travelling through eastern countries. She is also a great cook, so what else should a man ask for? She is not very fond of drinking beer, but this would be too much to expect. Together we set up the Travel Agency Povoda and few years later also the Canoe Rental Samba, which Anna is managing now.
